Looking for a filling, tasty, and nutritious breakfast? This is it.
Oatmeal is a great source of fiber and protein which both make you feel fuller longer. It's also a whole grain source of carbohydrates (great for energy and clean eating!) Plus, it's very easy to customize with your favorite ingredients: nuts, dried fruits, spices - anything!
Here is my favorite way to eat oatmeal. I call it my chunky monkey oatmeal:

Here is my favorite way to eat oatmeal. I call it my chunky monkey oatmeal:
1/2 C Rolled oats
1/2 water
1/2 soy milk
2 t Ground flax seed
1/2 t vanilla
1 Banana
1 T Natural Peanut Butter
1 t Cinnamon
2 T chopped walnuts
Mix all ingredients in a large breakfast bowl, microwave 1 minute. Remove and stir - if oats aren't cooked to your desired consistency, continue cooking 30 seconds at a time until done.

Seriously - it's addicting. Other thing I love - you can make double the recipe and it reheats fabulously. Just reheat with a splash of milk or water. Still just as nutritious as the day before. Don't bother with quick oats, rolled oats heat up just as well in the microwave. And if you've got even more time - steel cut oats are the way to go.
