Is working out easy? No. Fun? Not usually. Time consuming? Absolutely.
I started a new workout regiment where I pretty much work out 5 days a week for about 2-2.5 hours at a time. Some may call this overkill.... insane.... out of control. I call it being a bad ass.

How do I do workout this much?
I had to completely change my eating habits - I usually eat "dinner" at work around 4pm now so i can digest and be at the gym by about 6pm and then eat a post-workout snack. I also eat an enormous lunch. It's embarassingly big. But that's because I burn at least 1000 calories per workout (if not more) and calories are energy.
I took "I Can't" out of my vocabulary and pushed myself to try new things - like hiking old rag mountain (you can ask my dad - I hated this as a kid), circuit training, doing lunges with 45 lb weights in each hand, practically running on the stairmaster (948 calories an hour). Things that if you told me I would do them 2 months ago I would have laughed in your face.

I made a new playlist to cope with the fact that I hate the stairmaster. BPM on this playlist is up near 140... which is really fast on the stairs.
I pretty much have to skip happy hour/social activities on weeknights. But that's okay because there are plenty of other times to be social on the weekends. Plus, on a Friday night you can go to the gym for an hour or two and still make it to the bar by 11pm. Let's not pretend you're getting there at 8. Because you're not. No excuses.
I reward myself. My version of a reward? fro yo....mmmmm. My workout partner's version of a reward? Getting to jump into Zumba for a song or two in the middle of our circuit.
I got over it. You can make all the excuses you want, but at the end of the day - you just do it. I had to tell myself "Get comfortable with being uncomfortable" - this translates to doing all kinds of things you don't want to do at the gym: staying longer, doing 2 group fitness classes in a row, lifting more weight, increasing the incline on the treadmill... Doing the bare minimum will not cut it if you want results.
